Research

The broader research interests are in computational mechanics and solving problems within the field of civil engineering. The research is mainly focused on development, implementation and application of models for strength and fracture analysis of orthotropic materials. Areas of application include perpendicular-to-grain fracture of wood-based structural elements such as beams with a hole, notched elements and elements with dowel-type connections. Other areas of application concern cross laminated timber (CLT) at in-plane and out-of-plane loading conditions.
