Personal profile

Research

I‘m working as a research engineer within the project ICOS Sweden at the combined atmosphere and ecosystem station Norunda. The station is located quite far away from Lund; about 30 kilometres north of Uppsala, in a 90–120 years old mixed spruce/pine forest around our 102 metre high tower. To work year-round in a forest is fascinating and to keep going a research station offers almost every day some new challenges and needs a broad range of knowledge and experience.

About the Norunda station on icos-sweden.se

Already as a child I loved to be outdoors, in the workshop with my dad or in the garden with my mum, resulting many years later in studies of geography and a PhD in meteorology at the University of Basel. Before moving to Sweden I did a Post-Doc at ETH Zürich and was responsible for the research catchment Rietholzbach.

About Rietholzbach on iac.ethz.ch

The fascination for nature and the curiosity of how things are connected are my motivation to work within climate research.
