Currently framed around the tentative concept of ‘Atmospheres of Possibility: Pedagogy as Curatorial Practice’, this project aims to position pedagogical approaches within design learning as opportunities to build towards moments of shared engagement, facilitating participation and co-learning.
By understanding pedagogical practices as a curatorial process of atmosphere building, as an overarching approach rather than a rigid or fixed structure, the contextual and situatedness of each learning scenario is accounted for as a unique opportunity towards creating the conditions for processes that recognise the multiplicity of ways of learning, knowing, doing, and sharing.
Through the curation of open-ended activities and experiences using artistic and design methods, space is created for students and teachers to co-create and knowledge build together utilising the languages of their practices, embedding tacit and experiential knowledges. These approaches aim not only to facilitate engagement, but to also help transpose complex and urgent themes through multi-media and medium, contributing to responsible and plural presents and futures.
