Personal profile

My research focuses largely on how men and women allocate their time between the household and labor market. Outcomes which I focus on include: the household division of labour and how it is impacted by parenthood; how working couples spend time together and invest time in their children; the division of paid labour; and caregiving responsibilities over the life course. Another research interest of mine is sleep, including how it is influenced by work- and family-responsibilities.

I teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, covering topics such as family demography, economic change in post-war Sweden, the demographic transition, and family and work in an international perspective.
