Research

Primarily my Ph.D project is aimed at developing new advanced optical diagnostic techniques for characterizing soot in the aerosol phase. With purposes consist of studying soot formation in various combustion processes and detecting soot in the atmosphere. The optical techniques I am planning to work on are online Raman scattering and online UV-Vis-NIR absorption spectroscopic technique. Also, to construct a Scheimpflug Raman lidar to remotely detect aerosol soot at elevated distances in the atmosphere.
