Personal profile

Research

Dedicated to shaping the future of water research and innovation, I am committed to advancing smart digital tools for clean and safe water. My research integrates artificial intelligence, advanced data analysis, and modeling to enhance the resilience and sustainability of water systems.

With a strong focus on contributing to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, my work emphasizes stakeholder engagement in sustainability assessments, including the development of a new Water Sustainability Index for catchment-scale water resources management. This approach supports evidence-based decision-making for sustainable water use and quality improvement.

Key areas of my research include:

  • Satellite-based water quality monitoring – Leveraging remote sensing technologies for large water body assessments.
  • Plankton diversity studies – Utilizing open-source microscopy to enhance ecological monitoring.
  • 3D water quality modeling – Applying Deltares 3D models to simulate and predict water quality dynamics.
  • Sensor technology for microbial risk analysis – Testing innovative sensors for real-time monitoring of microbial contaminants in rivers and lakes.
  • AI-driven water quality prediction – Enhancing decision support systems with advanced algorithms for early warning signals.
  • Water Sustainability Index Development – Establishing a framework for catchment-scale assessments of water quality and quantity, integrating stakeholder inputs and sustainability criteria.

Through these initiatives, my research aims to drive innovation in water management, ensuring safe and sustainable water supplies through smart, data-driven solutions while fostering global collaboration for water security.
