Research

My research during my PhD studies in Linköping (thesis defence in 2020) focussed on improved energy efficiency in the aluminium industry and its supply chains. I studied both how the individual companies in the aluminium industry and aluminium casting foundries can work to improve their energy efficiency and how the companies in certain supply chains can work together to improve the energy efficiency of the entire supply chains. Additionally, I studied what factors that hinder or drive the work to improved energy efficiency both within the individual companies and in the supply chains. Furthermore, I studied potentials for energy efficiency improvements and how energy efficiency improvements impact the GHG emissions.

Since September 2023, I conduct a research project with the overall aim to study aluminium as ship fuel to assess its relevance as ship fuel from an environmental perspective and the potentials for the use of aluminium as ship fuel. This includes mapping out the lifecycle of aluminium as a ship fuel. In addition, pros and cons and niche markets for aluminium as ship fuel are identified.

Teaching

My work mainly consists of teaching within the energy and environmental areas both at bachelor and master level. I am main responsible for the courses FMIA01 (building engineering programmes in Helsingborg), FMIA10 (land surveying engineering programme) and FMIN25 (master course at several LTH programmes). I am secondary responsible for FMIF01 (industrial engineering programme) and supervisor in different courses at my division.
