Senior lecturer
I have extensive experience in teaching and supervision across all levels of higher education. My teaching focuses on intellectual property law, market and competition law, EU law, and IT law - with particular emphasis on the legal dimensions of knowledge-based assets, data-driven innovation, digital markets, online services, and artificial intelligence.
At Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM), I have been a key contributor to the integration of legal perspectives on digital transformation into the business law curriculum. I currently serve as course manager for the following courses:
I continuously develop the pedagogical and didactic dimensions of the courses I lead, while also contributing to teaching activities in other parts of the curriculum. My work includes designing structured learning activities, integrated assessments, and both formative (feedback-driven) and summative (graded) evaluations, with the aim of fostering active, deep learning and ensuring constructive alignment with intended learning outcomes.
Examples of such initiatives include the integration of written and oral assignments to improve seminar preparation and discussion, and the inclusion of external guest lecturers to bridge theoretical and practical perspectives. I also strategically combine different forms of summative assessment - such as seminar participation, individual papers, and written exams - to assess a broad spectrum of student competencies, including knowledge acquisition, applied skills, and critical judgment.
In my supervisory practice, I place strong emphasis on tailored feedback, delivered both orally and in writing, to support student learning and maintain alignment with course objectives. I have supervised several hundred theses within the law programme as well as at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. In addition, I have successfully supervised two doctoral candidates (PhD/LL.D.) to the completion of their dissertations and am currently supervising one doctoral student.
In addition to my direct teaching and supervisory work, I have initiated and led discussions within the Department of Business Law on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in higher education. These include ongoing dialogues on AI’s implications for teaching, assessment design, academic integrity, and the development of a department-wide AI policy. I have also taken the lead in promoting teacher competence in this area, emphasizing the need to equip both faculty and students with a deeper understanding of the technology’s opportunities and challenges.
To support and enhance my teaching practice, I have completed several university-level courses in pedagogy, supervision, and educational leadership, including courses on doctoral supervision, pedagogical leadership, and the development of teaching portfolios.
My research centers on intellectual property law, market and competition law, EU law, and IT law - with a particular focus on the legal frameworks shaping knowledge-based assets, data-driven innovation, digital markets, online services, and artificial intelligence. I have published extensively in leading law journals and am regularly invited to present my research at national and international conferences within my areas of specialization.
I lead the subject group on competition, market, and media law at the Lund University Centre for Business Law, where I contribute to shaping research agendas at the intersection of law, technology, and policy. In spring 2025, I co-founded the European Researcher Network on Fairness in Digital Markets and Artificial Intelligence (FIDMA), a platform committed to advancing interdisciplinary research in this dynamic and fast-moving field.
I currently serve as Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Nordic Intellectual Property Law Review (Nordiskt Immateriellt Rättsskydd, NIR), and have held visiting research positions at Columbia Law School (New York), the Institute for Information Law at the University of Amsterdam, and the Norwegian Research Center for Computers and Law (SERI) at the University of Oslo.
I serve on the boards of several professional associations, including the Swedish Copyright Society, where I currently hold the position of Vice Chair. I am also a member of the executive committee of the International Literary and Artistic Association (ALAI). In addition, I am actively engaged in a number of professional networks within my core areas of research and teaching, including the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP), the Swedish Network for European Legal Studies (SNEF), the Swedish Association for Competition and Market Law (KMF), and the Swedish Association for Law and IT (SIJU).
Beyond academia, I have substantial experience in legislative and intergovernmental processes. I served as policy analyst and secretary to two government inquiries related to intellectual property during 2006–2007 and 2014–2015, and was appointed Vice Chair of the EU Council’s working parties on intellectual property during Sweden’s EU Presidencies in 2009 and 2023. Since 2012, I have advised the Swedish government on matters concerning intellectual property. Over the years, I have gained extensive and sustained experience representing Sweden in multilateral negotiations - both within the EU Council’s working parties and at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the United Nations agency specializing in intellectual property.
