Personal profile

Research

I work as a Professor in Risk and Safety at the Division of Risk Management and Societal Safety and was in 2025 appointed director for the new Lund University Centre for Preparedness and Resilience (LUPREP). LUPREP includes a research school, two new MSc programmes as well as collaboration activities within-, and outside of, academia.

I have previous experiences of building a research organisatin and infrastructures within the aeronautical sciences, specifically focusing on sustainable aviation, unmanned aviation and aviation safety.

In my own research I have through the years focused on the notion of Resilience; from different angles and at different levels of abstraction. I am also deeply involved in teaching and research into topics of Organisational Safety, including being the program manager of the Lund University distance-based MSc Program in Human Factors and Systems Safety in which students represent practitioners and managers from a variety of safety-critical domains.
