Research

Johan is a business-driven Software Engineer, pursuing a Ph.D. at the Department of Computer Science, Lund University. His focus us on how companies should work with their Requirements Engineering and Product Management towards Open Source communities.

More specifically, he is looking at companies’ contribution strategies in regards to what they should contribute/open source, when and to whom in the communities. In order to be able to execute on the contribution strategies, and set up goals that are aligned with internal business needs, Johan also focuses on how companies can set up community strategies. These describe how to engage and invest in the communities, and help to prioritize communities that may be more important than others.

Johan holds an M.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management specializing in Software Engineering from Lund University. He is passionate about Open Source Software and how it may be leveraged in startups and large companies, as well as in education and humanitarian aid.
