My current research interest include studies of the carbon cycle and resource use related to climate chanage. It includes;

1: Carbon cycle studies in Africa. Micro meteorology and eddy covariance measurement of CO2 and H2O fluxes in Sudan  and in Senegal in order to understand the processes and environemntal drivers of the carbon cycle in semiarid environments. We use this information as calibration/validation data when upscaling estimates on GPP and NPP to national/continental and global extent using MODIS and Sentinel-2 data. Thsi includes for exampla the RAMONA project where we map grazing resources and herbacesousn rangeland biomass for Africa at 10 m spatial resolution using Sentinel-2 data.

2:  PERENNIAL crops in Sweden. We study the prospects and environemntal effects of chaning agriculture from being based on annual crops to be based on perennial crops. This include measurements of a range of micromteorological properties and fluxes of CO2 and H2O in Alnarp, just outside Lund.

3: Assessment of GPP, NPP and phenology for Europe at 10-m spatial resolution using Sentinel-2 data within the HRVPP-2 project, a follow up to the Copernicus Product HRVPP.
