My research focus on how digitalisation impacts law, but also how legal regulation impacts digitalisation. In my doctoral dissertation I investigated the international legal protection of computer programs. I have since participated in several interdisciplinary research projects that include open data and data sharing, trust in the digital society, and political polarisation on the internet. In my current research, I mainly focus on how access to data and artificial intelligence (AI) can be reconclided with the right to privacy and protection of personal data.

My main areas of teaching are data proitection law, intellectual property law, commercial contract law and information technology law (from introductory level to masters courses). In addition, I have supervised and examined numerous bachelor and master theses.

It is important to me that my research results are made available to and can benefit businesses, the public sector, policy-makers and society in general. It is also important for me as a researcher to get input from industry and other stakeholders. I therefore take every opportunity to hold talks, act as advisor to and cooperate in rearch projects with industry and the public sector. Such outreach have vastly benefited my research.
