My research is trying to understand the mechanism behind the electrode wear caused by gas discharges, currently focusing on spark discharges produced by ignition systems used in spark-ignition (SI) engines. Utilizing laser-based optical diagnostic methods, I want to characterize the electrode wear caused by different discharge parameters and under varied working conditions.
