Principal investigator, Researcher
Kajsa M Paulsson leads a research group at Experimental Medical Sciences, Lund University focusing on antigen presentation in relation to both immunotherapy and disease mechanisms. With a passion for strategic development as well as cross-border and cross-disciplinary cooperation she has successfully driven several local as well as international projects and initiatives to e.g., promote collaboration, competence and technology development in the life science sector. She is a dedicated management and board member including at e.g., Lund Institute of Advanced X-ray and Neutron Sciences (LINXS), the board of the Biomedical Centre, Lund University, director of Microscopy Community Lund University and as the project manager of Hanseatic League of Science (HALOS). She is frequently consulted as reviewer of grants and prioritizations of investments in the life science sector as well as for opinions on future directions.
The main projects in her present reserach portfolio are:
1) ‘Tapasin as a prognostic and diagnostic tool in glioblastoma multiforme’
2) ‘How to get an efficient immune response against zoonotic avian flu? Lessons to be learned from studies of multiple species’
3) ‘MHC-I molecules and their role in ankylosing spondylitis’
The work use different methods spanning from molecular biology techniques, cellular assays, tissues analysis, work with recombinant proteins, biochemistry, spectroscopy and scattering techniques.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
