Personal profile

Research

My research is anchored in the transdisciplinary field of surveillance studies, and more specifically within the field's recent ‘cultural turn’ which examines contemporary surveillance through cultural practices and imaginaries. As an overall theme, my research is concerned with how systems and practices of information-gathering and surveillance shape lived experience, and how they are imagined, represented and problematized from cultural and aesthetic perspectives.

My current research project focuses on the changing notions of the home and new affordances of control provided by domestic smart technologies and AI-enabled surveillance systems.
