Professor emerita
I am a professor of private law and work as a teacher and researcher at the Faculty of Law, University of Lund. I am also on the Dean's assignment responsible for internationalization at the faculty, which means an overall strategic responsibility for all aspects of internationalization in research, education and outreach.
Over the years, I have worked in three areas of research: foundation law, competition law and corporate law. I defended my dissertation in 1996 on Industrial foundations. It was the first dissertation in foundation law since the 1950s. Today, my research area has widened to include the Anglo-American legal concept of trust. This means I now also work in property law. My ongoing research project, funded by the Swedish Research Council and Torsten Söderberg Foundation, called "Can you trust a trust?" deals with the trust in a Swedish perspective. We are few researchers in Sweden with a scientific interest in foundations and related legal figures. This means that international cooperation is necessary and I have extensive contacts with colleagues in many countries around the world. With colleagues from the Nordic countries, I have formed the Nordic Trust Law Network and the Nordic Foundation Legal Network. I am a board member of Stiftelsen Stockholms juridiska fakultets tidskrift (JT) and Stiftelsen Juristförlaget i Lund. Since my dissertation, I have worked with foundations in different dimensions and it is the area of law that is closest to my heart.
I have throughout my time at the Faculty of Law participated in course development, teaching, development of teaching materials, course management and assessment, i.e. the educational activities at the Faculty. Today I have a large amount of teaching hours behind me, spread across several disciplines and several semesters at the law programs. My main teaching is in two subject areas. Market law focusing on competition law and corporate law with a focus on foundations but also corporate governance issues.
During the period 2009-2011, I was Director of Studies responsible for education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In my work with internationalization, I am responsible for matters relating to student mobility and agreements with universities all around the world. Every year we have many international visits at the Faculty and I coordinate several of these.
I have supervised two doctoral students to graduation, Nguyen Nhu Quynh (2011) and Justin Pierce (2016) and served as deputy supervisor of Tu Thanh Nguyen (2009).
I have an extensive network in the foundation law area both in Sweden and internationally. This concerns both colleagues in academia and practitioners. I write legal opinions, give lectures, participate in workshops etc. I chair the Kamprad Family Foundation (www.familjenkampradsstiftelse.se) and I am elected auditor of KK-stiftelsen (www.kks.se). I am a board member of the Association of Swedish Foundations and of the Foundation Board at Lund University. Within the framework of internationalization, I have been a member of several committees but also various ad hoc groups at Lund University. Currently I am the faculty representative in the Internationalization Council.
