Personal profile

My research draws from archaeology, history, cultural geography, tourism studies, and heritage studies, and primarily focuses on the development and management of heritage landscapes. During my PhD I developed a model of landscape analysis aimed at linking and activating past and present functions of historical landscapes in order to understand how to better engage visitors and guide preservation and management practices in a more systematic way. I am currently working on a research project that uses the model to study the development of the visitor experience in archaeological landscapes undergoing excavations.

I am also currently conducting research on reflective and affective learning using storytelling and personal narrative, ancestral tourism, and the production and reproduction of heritagescapes.
