Research

The working title of my dissertation project is "Female Pioneers of Electronic Music - Women in the Studios for Electronic Music between 1950 -1980". The work revolves around the representation and especially the lack of representation of female and non-binary composers* in the studios for electronic music in the historiography of musicology.

The aim of the doctoral project is to provide a socio-historical overview of the compositional achievements of composers including the danish composer Else-Marie Pade (1924-2016) and the french composer Éliane Radigue (*1932), as well as to explore the circumstances of work, access to devices and technologies, possibilities of performances, and thus lead to a revised music history that affects today's performance practices.
