Research

As a PhD candidate, I conduct research within the area of governance and management in public service. My thesis is expected to enhance the understanding of managing and organizing collaboration across boundaries in public service in general and healthcare in particular to strive for the goal of person-centred care. The thesis is integrated in a research project concerning a complex intervention in Swedish healthcare, more precisely the governance, diffusion, and implementation of coordinated person-centered care for elderly with complex needs.

I strive to improve the understanding of how collaboration across boundaries is (and could be) working in Swedish healthcare today. I am particularly interested in how decision-makers, managers and professionals may work in ways to favor patients with complex needs and problems, such as elderly individuals with multiple chronic conditions. Essentially, this is about managing and organizing service to a critical group of individuals in society. For me, this is one of the most meaningful questions to work with amidst all the problems we are faced with in this wicked world.
