Personal profile

Research

I am a global ecosystem and sustainability ecologist. My research tries to advance novel macroecological and biogeographical understanding of the diversity, structure and functioning of global terrestrial ecosystems and landscapes with eco- and geoinformatics enabled by big data from satellites and ground observations and state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. This novel understanding from ground-breaking research is expected to contribute to the stewardship of a sustainable biosphere for all life on Earth through more effective global environmental policymaking and governance and regional to local conservation, restoration and sustainable management of ecosystems and landscapes.
