Personal profile

Research

In his dissertation "Position and Change: A Study in Law and Logic" (Uppsala University 1977), Lindahl developed the logician Stig Kanger's system of types of rights to what is now known as the Kanger Lindahl theory of normative positions. In other works he has treated inter alia the theory of concept formation in the law (with a special view to legal concepts as intermediaries in legal rules), the theory of conflicts of norms in the law, and the theory of weighing and balancing in the law. With his colleague David Reidhav he has recently written a paper on legal power ("competence), submitted for publication. He is presently finishing a many years' philosophical work on the logical analysis of the concept "importance".
