Research
My main field of research is medieval medicine in the Middle East. I have produced text-critical editions of several texts attributed to the 9th-century mathematician, astronomer and physician Qusta Ibn Luqa. My current project focusses a neglected Arabic medical encyclopedia from 950 C.E., al-Muʿālaǧāt al-Buqrāṭiyya attributed to the clinically active physician Abū l-Ḥasan aṭ-Ṭabarī. Apart from Arabic manuscript material I have also worked with Syriac sources.
