Lene Nordrum

My research interests are English for specific purposes, multimodality, contrastive linguistics (English – Swedish/Norwegian), systemic functional linguistics, and research on teaching and learning in higher education, particularly in relation to the role of writing in students' learning processes

I am a Senior Lecturer in English Linguistics and an Educational Developer affiliated with both the Centre for Languages and Literature and the Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) at LTH. I am particularly passionate about discipline-specific writing and about writing as support for students’ learning processes and critical thinking. I also have a strong interest in how knowledge of language structures at both the micro and macro levels can be applied in language teaching and writing instruction.

At the Centre for Languages and Literature, I teach academic writing and grammar, and at LTH, I teach discipline-specific writing for doctoral students as well as professional development courses in pedagogy for LTH faculty. I am enthusiastic about developing courses in discipline-specific writing. My latest interest is how we can support doctoral students in writing effective thesis frames (kappor).
