Research

I am group leader of Biomedical Nutrition, a research group at the division of Pure and Applied Biochemistry. I am passionate about health and nutrition and I firmly believe that nutrition plays a crucial role in health and wellbeing. My research mainly focuses on weight management and the prevention of metabolic diseases. Sustainable innovative foods including oats, functional foods and seaweed are in the center of my research.

I am an expert in the design and management of clinical studies. I have been participating in several European research project e.g. SYSDIET, EURO-DISH, NordFOOD and COST-POSITIVe. Currently, I am one out of five work package leaders in Scanoats, an industrial research centre with focus on oat.

I authored the Energy chapter of the Nordic Nutrition 
Recommendations 2023.
