Personal profile

Research

I am Senior Lecturer in Human Rights and Associate Professor in History. 2022-2025 I am Head of the Department of History.

My research is in the field of the cultural history of war and concerns narratives, discourses and memories of war, with a particular focus on the First World War and the interwar period. I am mainly interested in media-historical, emotional-historical and rights-based perspectives on conflicts and how they shape different identities. Another interest is images and human rights. I also do research on humanitarian history and especially the view of children and children's rights over time. I have had a research project on mental health and rights among children in social care in Sweden during the period 1898-2018.

Right now I am working on a project on humanitarian history/human rights history based on the example of the Swedish Save the Children during the interwar period.
