Personal profile

Research

Materials scientist studying how material properties can be controlled at the nanoscale. My research focuses on understanding and tailoring the composition of nanoparticles—tiny particles a thousand times smaller than the width of a human hair—to tune their properties for applications such as catalysis and sensing.

Using advanced characterization techniques, including transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and in-flight X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) at MAX IV, I investigate how nanoparticles form and evolve during synthesis. In particular, I work with spark ablation, a gas-phase method that enables the production of clean, ligand-free nanoparticles and novel material combinations.

By linking synthesis conditions to both surface and bulk composition, my work aims to improve our ability to design functional nanomaterials for energy and environmental applications.
