Personal profile

Research

I am a researcher within sociology of religion with a focus on religion in the public sphere, Swedish politics and media - both traditional and digital. Of special interest are the new visibility of religion in the public sphere and the parallel changes in the political landscape, where cultural and value-based issues are cutting through the traditional left/right scale. Moreover, I am interested in how digitalization and new arenas for public debate, such as social media forums, have affected public conversations about religion and politics. Starting in September 2022 I am conducting a postdoc project entitled "Swedish, Christian and Equal! The use of Christianity in authoritarian populist and nationalist discourses about Swedishness and gender equality". The project is part of the Christianity & Nationalism platform, Centre for Theology and Religious Studies.
