Biography

My research interests stretches from library studies to medical humanities, In my PhD thesis I use a Foucaultinspired point of departure to investigate how library users are governed at public libraries in Denmark and Sweden with staff-less opening hours, but also how users transcend governing. More recently, I explore how the library materially and discursively is constructed as a safe place promoting trust and how libraries can be pluralistic public spheres promoting agonistic discourse. However, I am also researching bodily information and embodiment in the field of medical humanities. More specifically, I investigate how sensory bodily information processed through wearable medical technology informs the sense-making and enactment of illness and health.
