Research

My research is towards epitaxial growth, processing and characterisation of nanostructures. I am interested in the understanding of fundamental growth processes and materials properties, as well as the development of more applied structures.

Currently, my main interest is to further develop the nanowire tandem solar cells to reach high efficiency. In addition, we try to combine the nanowire solar cells with perovskite materials as a new kind of tandem structure. My group is also developing so-called carrier diffusion-induced light-emitting diodes with nanowires to prevent so-called total internal reflection and enable high-efficiency LEDs with this new architecture.
