My research centers on understanding and addressing the behavioral and institutional barriers to sustainable lifestyles. I am particularly interested in applied research that bridges behavioral economics and ecological economics to support a transition towards more sustainable and equitable societies.

A key focus of my research is the identification of behavioral barriers that hinder ecological lifestyles and the development of interventions—such as tailored environmental communication strategies—to overcome these barriers. I am currently exploring sustainable futures through adherence to planetary boundaries and ensuring the social foundations necessary for well-being. Humanity’s impact on the environment has breached six of nine critical planetary boundaries, necessitating urgent action. My ongoing project examines post-growth as an alternative economic model that emphasizes environmental and social well-being over GDP growth. This project develops and assesses future visions of a post-growth-oriented society, incorporating perspectives from citizens, scientists, and policy-relevant actors. Using survey-based quantitative methods, I investigate factors influencing public and political perceptions of these visions, aiming to inform communication strategies and policymaking to foster sustainable transitions.

In addition, I am deeply interested in sustainable business models and social innovation that promote sustainability. My research often emphasizes collaborative approaches that align environmental imperatives with societal aspirations, offering pathways toward a resilient and thriving future.
