Personal profile

Research

I am a PhD student in English Literature. My dissertation examines the interaction of class, gender and education in the texts of eighteenth-century British women writers. Specifically, it focuses on the decade after the French Revolution and the pamphlets, novels and other writings written by women about women’s rights. I am giving special attention to the authors who followed their pamphlets with novels that depict women’s struggles and the effects of gender inequality.

My areas of interest include women's writing, working-class writers and the autodidact in the long eighteenth century.
