Personal profile

Research

My research is within the field of midwifery; reproductive, perinatal and sexual health (RPSH). I also have research within the field of pedagogics, concerning learning and education in the midwifery program.

Within the field of RPSH my research has mainly focused on prenatal diagnosis, including seven published articles. These were about parents experiences of, attitudes to and preferences of prenatal diagnosis. My previous research has also been concerning youths and sexual health and about labour augmentation. My ongoing research is about obstetrics and antenatal care. I am co-supervisor to the two doctoral students Petra Pålsson, who is writing a thesis on early parental support and Helena Tern who is writing a thesis about midwives targeting care of the perineum during second stage of labor- communication and transfer of knowledge.

Within the pedagogical research I have studied midwifery students’ daily written reflections during clinical placement at birth unit. I have also taken part in an EQ-11 project about the case method.
