My main research interests are how university teachers express their pedagogical competence, and how the notion of scholarship of teaching and learning can be introduced to university teachers as a means of developing their practice.


I teach in teaching training courses (CHETT).


My research in cognitive science addresses questions in the area of tool mediated learning and the process of learning to express knowledge with representational tools.

My thesis analyses how students talk about and represent problems within a System Dynamics framework and how theses visualization tools are used by groups to assist them in their learning process. I have conducted empirical studies on the use of Causal Loop Diagrams and dynamic simulation tools (like Stella).
