Research

My main research area is integrated modelling of the relationships between land-use, biodiversity and ecosystem services, by including the decisions of managers, principally farmers, on land-use as well as the consequences of their decisions on ecosystem services in a common model framework. Using these models, the consequences of different policies can be evaluated in interaction with stakeholders. My research is conducted in multidisciplinary projects and research environments (i.e., Centre for Environmental and Climate Research at Lund University), where ecological research is used to inform about the biophysical relationships between land-use and ecosystem services. Integrating this research makes it possible to evaluate the consequences of changing conditions for decisions (e.g. changing climate, demands for biomass) and policies (e.g., the Common Agricultural Policy).
