My current research interests concern human and behavioral aspects of computing. Spanning two decades of research, I have explored human and organisational barriers to technological change in the physical security space as well as in higher education/research settings.
Since 2002 I have been active as Lecturer at the Department of Informatics at the School of Economics and Management, teaching mainly Interaction Design but also given classes on Decision Support Systems; UML; IT, business and organisation; and supervising theses work for students at Bachelor and Master level. External teaching commitments include: developing and teaching classes on requirement specification, risk management and quality assurance at Campus Helsingborg at the programme on Digital Communication, and similarily, developed and given an introductory course on interaction design at Malmö University College. Since 2005, and through teacher’s exchanges I have also offered classes at Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao in Spain, and since 2012 at University of Calabria in Italy.
Teaching philosophy
I take a co-creating and egalitarian approach to my teaching. More precisely, this means that I encourage course participants to contribute to the dialogue within the classes I participate in. I am strong believer that participants knows more than they think. On a broader level, it is my role curate an environment where participants can make a wider sense of experiences and knowledge they have accumulated from past experience. In order create an engaged dialogue I actively experiment with technology and current events to illustrate textbook and scientific material.”
I strongly believe that relevance should guide research. I have always given priority to communicating my research to a wider audience. In my specific case, this has mainly been done within the LUSAX security research group. LUSAX is a non-profit research-group driven by the ambition that relevant and useful research is created in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders from both the private and the public sector. I regularly participate as an external expert on topics concerning the role of security management, the relationship between the work of security officers and new security technology, and on topics concerning the use of camera surveillance. Besides my research on security, I am highly involved in the efforts on pushing forward the use of digital learning at LUSEM.
