My research focuses on how mental health problems develop in children and adolescents, and how they can be better understood, assessed, treated, and prevented. I lead longitudinal studies and clinical trials that follow young people over time to identify developmental pathways to mental health problems and opportunities for earlier and more effective intervention.

My work emphasizes transdiagnostic and dimensional approaches to psychiatry and combines longitudinal cohorts, randomized trials, experimental methods, and predictive modeling to advance precision in mental healthcare. Current projects include studies of anxiety disorders, obsessive–compulsive disorder, gender dysphoria, and broader developmental pathways to mental health problems.

I work as a senior clinical psychologist within the child and adolescent mental health services in Skåne. I head a research lab at Lund University dedicated to studying mental disorders in children, adolescents, and young adults

I am affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine in Houston (United States) and have ongoing collaborations with research groups at Karolinska Insitutet (Sweden), Temple University (United States), Miguel Hernández University of Elche (Spain), and University of Waikato (New Zealand).
