I have been on a Ph.D. journey in the Division of Chemical Engineering at Lund University since September 2022. As a part of CESTAP, my research project focuses on extracting lignin for conversion into value-added components, primarily as a fuel and/or fuel-additive source. This lignin extraction process primarily employs a low-pressure organosolv method, using a green solvent, and potentially coupled with an initial hemicellulose extraction. 

I gained industry experience as an Energy Trading Specialist at Energy Pool Turkey from 2019 to 2021, where I conducted the business of market participants in our portfolio across the day-ahead, intraday balancing, and ancillary services markets. In the intraday market, we closely monitor the instant production screens of our customers, take the initiative, and execute their transactions. In the day-ahead market, we determine the offers for the next day and enter them together with any bilateral agreements that may exist. In the balancing market, we also determine the finalized daily production plans and issue up-regulation and down-regulation instructions. 
Later, I yearned to deepen my understanding of electric power sales to eligible consumers and the intricacies of electricity trade through bilateral agreements in domestic and cross-border markets. To this end, I assumed the role of an Operation Specialist at Fiba Renewable Energy Holding A.Ş. (Cerean Enerji) between 2021 and 2022, wherein the sale of electric power to eligible consumers, purchase, and sale of electricity through bilateral agreements in domestic and cross-border markets. My role is to follow up on and bill the monthly consumption of customers (large, medium, and small-scale) in our portfolio. Additionally, I performed the necessary follow-up as a liaison between our customers and distribution companies.
