Research

Dr. Mette Habekost is a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Malin Parmar’s group at Lund University (Sweden). Mette’s research focus is to learn how to directly reprogram brain resident human glia into dopaminergic neurons in situ using stem cell-based and pre-clinical humanized rodent models. The aim of these efforts is to develop the strategy for use in brain repair with focus on Parkinson’s disease. She is supported by the Lundbeck Foundation Postdoc Fellowship.

Mette obtained her PhD in Biomedicine from Aarhus University (Denmark). She has a MSc in Molecular Medicine from Aarhus University.
