Research

My research is on the topic of planet formation, a branch of theoretical astronomy that focusses on the origin of the planets around our sun and other stars.
More specifically, I have mainly worked on the formation of giant planets, those planets that formed early around young stars and attracted thick gaseous envelopes (like Jupiter in our Solar System). Together with colleagues, I have both numerically and analytically investigated core growth by the accretion of pebbles and the subsequent attraction of the gaseous envelope.
