Research

Born and raised in Rome (Italy), with a great interest in biology since I was a kid. I got my Bachelor in Biological Sciences at La Sapienza University in Rome, then moved north to the University of Trieste for an International Master’s Degree in Neuroscience.

Moved again, more north, this time to Lund University (Sweden) for a PhD in Biomedicine with a specialization in Neurobiology. The aim of my PhD was to investigate mechanisms underlying experience- and activity-dependent plasticity during stroke recovery.

I defended my PhD thesis on April 21st, 2017 in Segerfalksalen, Wallenberg Neuroscience Center, Lund University.
