Personal profile

Research

Mohsen Bayat Pour (known as “Iman” to his family and close friends) holds a PhD in Structural Engineering from Lund University, Sweden. He also earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Civil Engineering (specializing in structural design) and Mechanical Engineering (with a focus on heat and fluid transfer). Subsequently, Mohsen completed two Master’s degrees: one in Hydraulic Structures—where his research explored fibre-reinforced concrete from Shiraz University—and another in Energy-Efficient and Environmental Building Design from Lund University (LTH).

Mohsen is a senior researcher with combined academic and industrial experience in mechanical and structural engineering. His work focuses on building physics (moisture and energy performance), energy systems, structural analysis, circularity, sustainability (LCA & LCC), integrating artificial intelligence (AI) for predictive modelling, and decision analysis.

Mohsen’s research is focused on the following key areas:

  • Moisture-related problems in buildings and infrastructure, including hygrothermal analysis, mould growth, and material degradation.
  • Hydrogen-based energy systems, with emphasis on heat production and material circularity of metallic components from hydrogen catalysts in sustainable construction.
