MONNE WIHLBORG, PhD in Education, MSc in Philosophy, RNI, RN; working as an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine, institution of Health Sciences at Lund University in Sweden. I have been a teacher in higher education contexts since 30 years and have an integrative background. My background involves studies at the faculty of Humanities at the department of philosophy and the department of cognitive science in the 90-ties, and completed my PhD dissertation in 2005 at the faculty of Social Sciences, at Lund University in Education, concerning internationalisation in higher education. I have also worked as an assistant professor at Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden and at present as an associate at the faculty of Medicine at Lund University. I am an elected member of the Teaching Academy at the Faculty of Medicine and an elected co-convenor of the European Educational Research Association’s, in the network Research in Higher Education related to ECER (European Conference on Educational Research) and a lifelong member of the Oxford Round Table. I also hold a membership in the PESGB (Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain) and PES (Philosophy of Education Society, Florida State University, US.). My current research interest involves development of, and critical reflection on, methodology and learning in higher education, and, Bildung, knowledge, meaning-making, becoming aware, and internationalisation in higher education in general as well as in professional programs.
