My research deals with the interaction between atoms and ultrashort light pulses. When light is sent into an atom, it reacts in various ways. With the time scale of the response being short, ultra-short pulses are required to study it. More precisely, I generate attosecond light pulses to probe photionization phenomena. These are processes during which one or several electrons are extracted from an atom via energy transfer. To study the strong particle correlations, I use coincidence studies. My favorite tool for doing so is a reaction microscope called CIEL spectrometer.
