Personal profile
Research
I work as a post-doctoral researcher in Economic Geography and a lecturer in Human Ecology. At present, I conduct research on alternative food networks in southern Sweden, on the incipient phenomenon of Nordic viticulture, as well as on the discursive construction of taste within Sweden’s centralised system of alcohol retail (Systembolaget).
My disciplinary background is in Social Anthropology, and I primarily work in a broadly ethnographic tradition. In earlier research, I have studied alternative viticulture in Italy and the bioeconomic innovation project in Europe.
With a focus on the human relation with the living world, my work seeks to excavate the material, conceptual, and metaphysical infrastructures that underpin valuation processes. In relation to contemporary concerns with sustainability in particular, I critically interrogate the preponderance of efficiency within ecological politics and investigate contexts in which vulnerability cannot be construed as a mere lack or defect.
