Personal profile

Research

I work with statistical methods and machine learning techniques for quality control and pre-processing of high-throughput data, in collaboration with microarray facilities. Also, adaptation of machine learning techniques for survival analyses.

Teaching

I have had various teaching assingments for mid-bachelor basic courses (multidimensional calculus, statistical physics, quantum mechanics, fluid dynamics). I have created a fluid dynamics course from scratch, as a compulsory element in the meteorology bachelor program. I have written an apparently much appreciated course book on statistical physics and quantum mechanics. Currently, I teach the fluid dynamics course, and parts of an introductory quantum mechanics course. My main pedagogical project is to design problem solving sessions where students actively discuss problem solving strategies, rather than just presenting a complete solution.
