I'm interested in societal and historical perspectives on computer technology, including narratives of artificial intelligence. I'm particularly interested in Swedish debate on personal computers in the years 1975–1985, and the interplay between expectations for the future and narratives of the past.
This work augments our technical research in important ways. Computer science is fundamentally about preparing for the future, necessarily interplaying with societal expectations on future technological development. As computer scientists, we thus have much to benefit from learning how to weigh different narratives of the future against one another, in both research and education.
