Research

My research is focused on how the exchange of greenhouse gases (GHG) between the biosphere and the atmosphere is affected by natural processes and by different management operations. I do direct measurements of GHGs, using micrometeorological methods, in different types of forest and in agricultural landscapes in Southern Sweden. Current projects focus on evaluating climate benefits of continuous cover forests vs. rotation forests, on perennial crops vs. the normal rotation of annual crops and on rewetting of previously drained peatlands.
