Research

My current research is focused around digitalization, or more accurately on ICT as an enabler of success or the catalyst to even faster failures. I try to understand this by looking to how we utilize ICT within the field of Smart Cities. Another avenue that I have pursued in order to understand digitalization within our society is how hospitals use and implement electronical medical records as a key component in business in order to create sustainable success but also as a mediator to certain failures. My interest in ICT or the digitalization of cities and infrastructures came about with my dissertation on how to use Alliances within the physical security industry in order to harness and understand ICT. This has led me to a point where I would argue that we need to understanding how we use ICT as well as how the digitalization of our society at large will affect both the private citizen as well as the corporations. It cannot be stressed enough that without and understanding of this the corporations as well as municipalities we have today have no chance of surviving the next 20 years of modernization.

I belong the Future Light research project which is focused on how we can leverage Smart City initiatives in order to create a better grid system, be that for transportation, lighting, waste water treatment or just better communication. The project is based in Eindhoven, Holland but runs all over Europe.
