Research

I am an ancient historian and classical philologist. I hold a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History (Lund University) and a BA and MA degree in ancient Greek and Latin philology (University of Copenhagen).

I successfully defended my doctoral dissertation Order and Adornment: The Role of Dress in Plutarch, in November 2022: (faculty opponent: Associate Prof. Manuel Albaladejo Vivero, Universitat de València; academic supervisors: Prof. Henrik Gerding and Prof. Karin Blomqvist). My dissertation provides the first investigation and analysis of dress throughout Plutarch's authorship and provides new knowledge and insights, both on individual passages and overall, on how Plutarch understood dress from a philosophical, historical and moral perspective.

At Lund University I have lectured in courses in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History. I have previously been employed at the University of Copenhagen in various academic positions, including as subject librarian, lecturer in ancient Greek and Latin language, ancient Greek epigraphy, and as a research assistant at the Centre for Textile Research. I have also conducted research on written sources for ancient colourants and their terminology for the Tracking Colour project at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Copenhagen.

I am currently a researcher at the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History since December 2022, working on the Lund University collection of ancient Greek and Latin squeezes.

My research interests include dress history and terminology, epigraphy, lexicology and lexicography, ancient Greek and Roman literature and history, Indo-European studies, and digital humanities.
