Since my doctoral dissertation (2000), various aspects of the history of public law has dominated my research interests: the public law as a developing system of political, philosophical and religious ideas. Such ideas may be situated in a nation state context, but cannot be fully understood in their complexity without a broader comparative perspective. This is mirrored in my research, which often discusses Swedish developments from a Nordic and/or larger European angle and which has been further stimulated by longer stays in both Scandinavian environments and in Germany. 

My teaching experiences includes periods in both Sweden (Lund University 2000–2004, 2008–) and in Denmark (University of Southern Denmark, Odense 2004–2008). At both universities I have taught legal history (Swedish, Danish and European) as well as constitutional law (Swedish and Danish); in Odense I also gave lectures in Legal Philosophy and in Comparative Law. I have been course coordinator and active within educational management. For a period I was external examiner at Roskilde and Aalborg Universities (Denmark) and Lehrbeauftragter at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald (Germany). In 2012 the Lund Law Student Union’s Pedagogical Prize was awarded jointly to the teaching staff in legal history.
